Trauma-informed mentoring
We don’t ask “What’s wrong with you?” — we ask “What’s happened to you?”
When young people receive consistent, trauma-informed support from someone who truly invests in them, it builds the trust, safety, and belief needed to break cycles and move confidently into adulthood.
At Endure, we offer personalised 1:1 and group trauma-informed mentoring for young people aged 11–25 who are care-experienced, out of education or work (NEET), at risk of offending, engaged with statutory services, or at risk of exclusion — including those who have already been excluded from mainstream education.

Our mentoring is grounded in lived experience and deep understanding. We meet young people where they are — emotionally and physically — walking alongside them as they rebuild confidence, trust, and belief in their potential and future.

Sometimes the loudest behaviour is just a quiet cry for help.

What Is Trauma-Informed Mentoring?

Trauma-informed mentoring recognises how trauma and adversity impact a young person’s emotions, behaviour, and ability to trust. We don’t ask “What’s wrong with you?” — we ask “What’s happened to you?”

This approach focuses on:

-
Creating emotional safety and consistency
-
Building trust through real relationships, not control
-
Empowering young people instead of punishing them
-
Working alongside, not over — collaboration over authority
-
Looking beyond behaviour to understand the root cause
“I used to get kicked out of everywhere because of how I acted, but no one ever asked why. My mentor didn’t just see the behaviour — she saw the pain behind it. She helped me feel safe enough to talk, and that’s when things started to change.”
— Young person supported by Endure
